Minister Solberg Announces Appointment to CMHC Board

OTTAWA, Ontario, September 21, 2007 — The Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) announced today the appointment of E. Anne MacDonald to CMHC’s Board of Directors. A lawyer by profession, Mrs. MacDonald will sit on the board as the representative of the Atlantic Region.

“Mrs. MacDonald brings to the position an extensive knowledge of provincial and municipal law,” said Minister Solberg. “Her experience will be of great benefit to the millions of Canadians that CMHC serves.”

Mrs. MacDonald was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar Association in 1977, and has operated a general law practice in Pictou, Nova Scotia since 1979. She was Pictou’s solicitor for 25 years and assisted the town in acquiring and managing its real estate properties. Her primary areas of law practice include real estate, wills, probate, municipal law and family law. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, and is actively involved in her community through local organizations and charities.

Minister Solberg thanked outgoing board member Roberta Hayes for her valuable contribution to the Corporation.
